Otranto is a magical city that links East and West.
Its historic center is characterized by the typical and ancient streets that intersect and overlook all the wonderful splendor of the city: the magnificent Cathedral of Santa Maria Annunziata where you can see the inside of the floor mosaic depicting the Tree of Life, the Aragonese Castle, located in the South-West of the city and has a trapezoidal structure with three round towers placed in three of the four corners and also on the huge bastions overlooking the sea offering spectacular views.

Tra le tappe obbligatorie di una vacanza in terra salentina c’è sicuramente Torre dell’Orso, marina del comune di Melendugno. Si tratta di un tratto di costa meraviglioso, in cui coesistono l’imponenza dei faraglioni e la sinuosità delle spiagge.
La baia di Torre dell’Orso è uno spettacolo naturale meraviglioso: la spiaggia caraibica, le acque limpide e cristalline e lo scenario affascinante delle “due sorelle”, ovvero la presenza di due enormi scogli gemelli che sorgono dal mare a poche decine di metri dalla riva. La baia è protetta da un tratto di costa più alto, sul quale è stata eretta la torre cinquecentesca che dà il nome alla località: Torre dell’Orso. Si tratta di una delle tante torri di avvistamento che furono fatte costruite a protezione della costa da eventuali invasioni.

Altra località balneare da visitare assolutamente, Castro sorge su un tratto costiero roccioso e affascinante. Dista 15 km da Otranto, 45 da Lecce, 50 da Gallipoli e 25 da Leuca, e offre ai turisti la possibilità di usufruire di un mare fantastico e di una natura incontaminata. È la meta ideale per chi non ama il caos delle spiagge affollate, ma predilige i tratti scoglieri e le gite in barca, alla scoperta di grotte affascinanti e baie isolate.
Nella parte superiore della cittadina, il borgo antico offre una vista mozzafiato sul mare e la possibilità di visitare la parte vecchia della località, racchiusa nelle mura cinquecentesche e impreziosita dal bellissimo Castello e dalla suggestiva Cattedrale.

Poco più di tremila abitanti popolano durante l’inverno questa perla della costa adriatica. Santa Cesarea Terme è uno dei gioielli del salento, un piccola località che sorge su una grande scogliera a strapombo sul mare. 48 km a sud di Lecce, è oramai un punto di riferimento per il turismo non solo locale, ma anche nazionale. A richiamare i turisti non è solo la bellezza del tratto costiero, del mare e del paesaggio che circonda Santa Cesarea, ma anche e soprattutto la particolare presenza delle acque termali.
Si tratta di terme con proprietà salsoiodiche e sulfuree, che sgorgano da quattro cavità naturali ad una temperatura attorno ai 30 gradi. Numerose strutture offrono la possibilità di usufruire delle terme, andando a costituire un’offerta turistica di grande livello. sia in estate che nel periodo invernale. Da ammirare anche le tante ville dell’Ottocento, di stile orientaleggiante e liberty.

Gallipoli, also known as the “Pearl of the Ionian” or “beautiful city”, is one of the most flourishing centers of Salento and sought after tourist destination.

Santa Maria di Leuca, called “De Finibus Terrae” because is last of the Apulian towns that cater to the south, is characterized by numerous caves, that it’s possible to visite both by land and by sea where you can also enjoy wonderful diving.
Santa Maria di Leuca worth a stop along the route of the coast of the Salento peninsula: from the late nineteenth century were built splendid palaces that did of Leuca a major tourist center.
